Car Seat Safety

Even though most parents understand the need for using a car seat for their younger children, many children are still unnecessarily injured in car accidents. Among the factors that contribute to these preventable injuries are car seats used incorrectly or not used at all, children being placed in the wrong type of car seat, and moving children out of a car seat or booster and into regular seat belts at too early an age.

Harford County Health Department is now offeringChild Safety Seat Inspections. They install: Infant Seats, Toddler Seats, and Booster Seats.

This service is free of charge to the residents of Harford County. The inspections are completed by the Injury Prevention Coordinator who is a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. Inspections are by APPOINTMENT ONLY and are performed on the:

1st Wednesday of the month from 9 am - 12 pm and

3rd Tuesday of the month from 3 pm - 6 pm.
